Guess what Golden Bears and Pandas fans? Our Bears & Pandas 50/50 is back!

Proceeds from this year’s online 50-50 raffle are going to support The Women Fore Pandas Scholarship Fund. 

Panda student-athletes have blazed the trail for women in sport at The University of Alberta, and are the next generation of aspiring business & corporate leaders, engineers, doctors, lawyers, nurses, parents, teachers, coaches, entrepreneurs, and leaders in their communities.

Panda student-athletes today carry that proud tradition forward as they continue to dominate in Canada West & U SPORTS competition. Unfortunately, financial support for female student-athletes still falls short. That is why in 2013 The Women Fore Pandas Scholarship was created — a scholarship dedicated to financial support for Pandas student-athletes.

Awarded to Pandas student-athlete(s) with satisfactory academic standing who are registered in undergraduate or graduate course(s) at the University of Alberta. Selection based on academic standing and demonstrated athletic excellence.

Since 2013, the Women Fore Pandas Scholarship has raised over $500,000 which has funded over over 200 awards/scholarships for Pandas.

Tickets can be purchased by individuals 18 years or older, located within Alberta’s provincial borders at the time of purchase.

There are 2,608,000 raffle numbers available on the AGLC Raffle License.

Tickets will be available for purchase starting at 9:00 AM MST on the first day of each 50/50 Raffle Event, and sales will close at 9:00 PM MST on the last day of each 50/50 Raffle Event, as listed in the AGLC Raffle License (the “50/50 Raffle Event(s)”). After Sales have been closed, the draw shall take place and be announced no later than 11:59 PM on the last day of the respective 50/50 Raffle Event. The draw shall take place at the NPO’s Offices (2-420M Van Vliet Complex, Edmonton, Alberta). All draws are open to the public. The winning raffle number will be selected via random number generation (“RNG”) online during the dates listed in the AGLC Raffle License. 

The holder of the ticket containing the winning raffle number may claim their prize by contacting the 50/50 office at 5050@bearsandpandas.ca and forwarding their purchase e-mail and a copy of their government issued photo identification and address. 

The name on the government issued photo identification must match the name that was used to purchase the ticket. 

Each prize claimant must provide the Society with all information required by provincial gaming regulations to claim a prize. The prize claimant will be required to sign a Declaration and Release ("Release") which must be executed and returned to the Society no later than 5 business days after his/her receipt of the Release. The winner’s name will be publicized on the list of prize winners located at bearsandpandas.ca/5050 as well as on the Society social media channels. All prizes will be awarded to the winners via cheque within 30 days of the winner delivering the ticket containing the winning raffle number, the executed Release, and all other required documents to the Society. 

For all Prizes not claimed on or before the Prize Claim Expiry Date (4:00 PM MST, 90 days from the time of the announcement of the winning raffle number), the Society will apply to AGLC in writing to either donate the unclaimed Prize to a charity or back to the Society to be spent on previously approved use of proceeds.
